First Steps with Adobe InDesign [VIDEO]

A week ago I started the InDesign part of my graphic design course but I missed one class and got a bit behind on the material, resulting in a sever lack of knowledge in using the program.

Since the InDesign section is only about 6 lessons long, I needed to make up the time I lost and so I turned to YouTube for tutorials. I know from past experience when catching up on Illustrator that YouTube can be an invaluable resource when self-learning those kinds of visual software and this was also true in this case.

It is only reasonable that other people may find those videos useful, so I decided sharing what I found on the blog. I also thought about making some tutorials myself in the future for some of those applications. We will see about it.

I may also continue to update this guide as I watch more videos on the subject.

InDesign CS5 Tutorial: Basic Rundown of Design Tools

Basically as the title says, this video demonstrate some basic concepts and tools used in InDesign.

InDesign CS 5.5 from Start to Finish

An episode of the Creative Suite Podcast by Terry White which showcase the process of making an InDesign document from start to finish. It exemplify some of the program’s features very well, especially for beginners.

How To Get Started With Adobe InDesign CS6 – 10 Things Beginners Want To Know

Another one from the Creative Suite Podcast, this time demonstrating specific techniques for beginners. Some of those are new to the CS6 version, but some have been around for a long time.

If you like those you should probably check out more videos on Terry White’s channel, he has a lot of materials of Adobe software and other good stuff. It’s a good thing he was the top search result in YouTube when I search for tutorials.

If you have other sources you use to catch up on Adobe’s tools or other professional software, I’d love to hear about it in the comments.
